Skype For Linux Login Fails, In Grey Only.
 

Hi, using Mint 5, Skype downloaded well, in fact three times, different version, although only two installs were complete. The first was except the login tab is grey and does not register a click. So no go. That is why I tried another install and looked to re-install.

I tried it in WINE, but when it came to open the download, I was not given a list of programs by which to open it, and could not find one.

I don't know how to break it to you best but the "if it does not work just install again" approach is one people use with mcrsft "products". With GNU/Linux that is almost never necessary. You just have to get the dependencies, the app and network configuration right.


I haven't used the app in a while but do you have the default ports open and forwarded (see the Skype website for documentation) if you're behind a router? Did you install the right version of the required libraries?
