Unhappy Sketchup 8 PRO + Mint 19.1 (other distros aswell)

Hello there, Linux friends!

I will do my best to explain everything and be as short as I can be. Thanks in advance.

I have installed Sketchup 8 PRO using Wine 3* on my fresh install of Linux Mint 19.1. The problem that I am facing is that whenever I save a file the program freezes and I cannot move or do anything. The fix is to restart the software. Here is what I did and it didn't help, followed by my PC specs:

1. Installed Sketchup 8 PRO + Wine (versions from 1 to 3) on the following distros with the same problem: Q4OS, Kubuntu, Manjaro, Mint 19.1
2. Installed all codecs necessary, Dotnetfx 2.0/4.5.2 and VCRUN libraries on my virtual wine
3. Tried with 32 bit and 64 bit prefixes, no result
4. Tried PlayOnLinux - crashes when I try to install Sketchup 8 PRO no matter what I do as additional libraries (or even without)
5. Forcing Sketchup to use AMD graphics instead of Intel (using DRI_PRIME=1)
6. Full Mint Upgrade + required codecs + dependencies for Wine
7. Apt upgrade/update/autoremove/autoclean and etc.

My PC is: HP Probook 450 G2 (4GB RAM/Hybrid Graphics AMD HD8760+Intel/Intel 2020 Processor). Integrated card CANNOT be switched off from BIOS.

What can I try, guys? Sketchup PRO 2015 (I have two keys actually) works well but I have tons of plugins for version 8 so I would rather stick to it instead of moving to 2015.

Does AMD need any other codecs or Intel in order to work well?

Thanks in advance,
Martin

The comments section of the winehq page would be where I would start. It seems that several people there have managed it. 2 people make mention of a registry fix. 1 managed to install it OK from winetricks. There are issues with some plugins, apparently, including 2d export.

Sadly none of those work as a solution. Seems that only Debian 9.6 was able to load the program perfect and not to cause freezings. Will test tonight and give a feedback.

I just tried on my (highly customised) Ubuntu 18.04, using winetricks, and it seems to work perfectly, without any registry tricks or anything. Having said that, I haven't used sketchup much, so cannot be sure that it is working right. It seems very fast and responsive though.

I found the problem. Seems that Thumbnails on Model Info cause the problem, so turning those off are making sketchup work and save again.
Maybe it cannot handle them in Linux, no idea.

It would make sense, I suppose.
