Site that forces you to use Windows AND/OR Interenet Exploder (IE) that's NOT M$

Can anyone help me. I need to access my www.homestead.com account. Every Time I try to log in it tells me that I HAVE to be using Winbloze. This of course is ridiculous. I tried turning OFF broweser identification, and I ven tried forcing browser identification to IE 5.5 on Windows 2000 but that did not do anything. This is the page I get:

Force me to use windows, what a joke!

Can anyone help please?

Doesn't look like you're going to get in. This page gives the system requirements.

Yes Java applets and Javascript are both enabled in all my web browsers. I think somehow homestead "sniffs" out which OS you're using and based on that either checks for IE or just blocks you out

I'm sure they have some sort of email address. Of coarse I'd have to dig in pretty deep for it, as usually companies like that try to hide it as much as possible

This is the closest I found. Apparently They don't tell if they have an email address. Try this form though

Contact Us Form

I'm getting sick and tired of having to use winbloze for homestead. They're the best service I know of since its somewhat free yet not as troubesome and annoying as say Geoshities.

It's not oly one site like this. The one I know is gierki.wp.pl. It's online gaming site. When you log in there is a script that allows you pass only when using IE on Windows. It's funny, because it looks like the site is written in Java. I mailed them, but no response...

Hmmm interesting. There MUST be a way to work around such a script. After all, Mozilla RC3, and/or Netscape 6.2.3 or even Konqueror 3.0 Should be able to run Java applets just fine!

Get a decent host, if homestead are insisting you need windoze just to log on then I bet their servers are IIS (Internet Insecure Server) as well. I'd never trust a site to a company that clueless that they only code for one platform.

You are right I should switch, but I have some valuable data stored there. Also, I don't know of a decent alternative thgat doesn't have annoying things like intruding banners and ads (geoshities). And I need to link .JPG files directly
Anyways, please let me know if any of you come across a decent web host
