Question sis 645 motherboard linux config

Hi!

I'm a newcomer to Linux and wanted to configure the Linux to the best for my motherboard specs.

The mobo is the MSI Ultra 645 (SIS 645 chipset, DDR, Pentium 4)

Since there are no Linux'drivers' (as far as I know) for the chipset, is there something I should/could do to configure it myself??

Or maybe there're people with the same mobo and want to share Linux expertise with me???

Thanks a lot,

Luis

Hey,

I've got a ASUS P4S133, it uses a SiS 645 chipset, currently running Redhat 8.0 with no problems. It recognises the chipset correctly. I would preferable use mandrake 9 but it doesn't pickup the IDE controller correctly and i haven't had time to play around with the kernel to try and fix the problem. So for a starting point just give RedHat 8.0 a try, it should have no problems dealing with your mobo chipset.

Hope this helps.
