Simple (I think) XMMS issue

If I click on a MP3 file, XMMS will open and I will see the name of the song (not the artist) in the playlist but the song won't play, even if I press the play button. If I delete the song from the playlist, and then hit the FILE+ icon and add the same song to the playlist, it will show the Artist and Title in the playlist and it will play fine. Whats the deal?

I have no idea why that happens although it might be the way permissions are setup or maybe a glitc that happened while installing xmms, I had a similar problem to this when I installed xmms from source with some CFLAGS that I set up. I just recompiled it from source without optimizations and it seemed to work fine after that. So the easiest thing i would say is to try reinstalling xmms and see what happens.

Are you using the ALSA output plugin in XMMS? In that case press the configure button and choose the right output device.
On my PC it's called hw:0,0
