Simple dual boot with Windows 10 and Linux Mint 18.1 with provided Grub??

I want to clean off my drive, install Windows 10, and then reinstall Linux Mint 18.1 dual boot. I tried this with version 17 and Grub had a problem with something Windows did to the drive. Does Linux Mint 18.1 over come this and just do a straightforward installation and then have Grub2 handle the dual boot part without having to be a total Linux guru and change various files to force it to work? The last time, with version 17, Windows had done something that kept Grub2 from working. I was never able to overcome that.

If you are going to use UEFI/GPT, the link below has a very detailed tutorial on dual booting windows 10 and Mint. If the computer came pre-installed with windows 10, it was almost certainly UEFI. You should be able to see UEFI options in the BIOS. You can boot the Mint DVD and use gparted to check if you still have an EFI partition.

Thanks! This looks detailed enough. The Windows flash drive arrives Tuesday, so I will give it a shot. It was the UEFI that got me before.

UPDATE: That didn't work. I gave up and took the laptop to a repair joint here and had 'em do it.
