You need to install arabic fonts and recompile the kernel with support for arabic.
|
recompile the kernel with arabic fonts?
what does that mean? Can u tell me the procedure? I am waiting |
First build a kernel with Arabic support.
under Native Language Support (NLS) check Codepage 864 (Arabic) Look for a kernel building howto if you have never built a kernel. It is not hard to do. than install a Arabic font. Link below http://www.arabeyes.org/project.php?proj=Khotot media-fonts/arabeyes-fonts "gentoo users" |
I know how to build a kernel....
But as u mentioned, Native language Code.............. Where is it? I am so confused |
just after file system selection
|
the arabic support in the kernel is enabled that is its M. Do I have to keep it built in
|
It is very small code I would build it in.
|
yeah now, i have set it built-in... i mean in the make menu config, i have set the NLS to arabic also is built in... Now, my kernel is building. it will take around an hour to complete. Hope it works.
Thanks for the timely help. |

I am really confused....
I have compiled the kernel for the NLS. and now, the same error persists. I tried this. I removed the initscripts rpm from the system. Then installed it again. When i reboot, the shutdown messages are in arabic. How come it happened. Its really sick. Help |
