shutdown ARTS

I am having a problem with a game and I heard that it might be because of this program called ARTS. How do I check to see if it is running? How can I stop it? And do I really need that program installed? Answers to this would be cool. Thanks in advance.

with the command "ps axu | grep arts" you can check if this is running, "kill <pid>" will stop it i thought this program had to do something with sound stuff...

You can rename /usr/bin/artsd , or uninstall arts rpm package.
