-shuffle not working in mplayer

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post this. I assure you, I have googled the heck out of this one, but have found no answers.

I can't seem to get the shuffle option to work with mplayer using RH8.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Shuffle option was working fine at one time, but I recently installed Mandrake for the purpose of checking it out. I didn't like it as much as RH, so I went back to RH8, installed Mplayer, and all is well except the shuffle option doesn't work. (I guess I said that.)

Thanks in advance.
