Shrike Install

I am attempting to install Redhat 9, and during the install after selecting to install from a local CD-ROM the installation asks for the Redhat install disk (which in in the drive), and the CD-ROM drive stops functioning (can't eject it or anything with out a hard reboot). Is this a hardware compatibility problem, or am I just not installing the OS correctly. Thanks

If I come up with a sure answer I will post it , And hope you would do the same

BTW , what's the model of your cd rom , mother board , ect.. for others to see and maybe have a config or info you can use .
