Shoutcast and amarok Q-how to record...

live streams received via the ShoutCast website and played by
amarok. I have looked the amarok program over several times file:///home/linux_lover/dwnlds/thunderbirdand I cant find anyway to record...at all. Is this the correct way to record live streams? Amarok has been a great tool for my entire music collection but I read somewhere that you can use amarok to record signals either via your soundcard's input as well as the internet.
Please advise....thanks in advance.

This will get you recording from the internet. I don't know about line-in on the soundcard.

hey bigrigdriver...thanks for the input...only one problem...

...all the instructions you provided were completed successfully except when I 'run' the script Record Radio-OnDemand it doesnt save the file to the music directory StreamRipper created. Within that newly created music directory is a subdirectory for Podcast but nothing for music.

I'll right-click the streaming file that I'm listening to and choose Record Radio | Listen to and Record Stream - and the service says that connection was refused and shuts down Amarok.
Is it just the connection refusing me or is it something I havent
setup correctly?

So either way, if I start the script to record to my music directoy or if I right-click the downloading file it fails.
Thoughts please...thanks!

For shoutcast streams, you could use streamtuner to listen to them. It runs streamripper to record the stream.
