Shockwave audio/video sync bad

I've been searching for awhile and only found one case where someone else has had this problem -- but he couldn't solve it either. Here's what's going on:

I installed the Shockwave Flash version 6.0 r69 plugin with no problems, using Mozilla 1.0.1, a nVidia GeForce2, and a Sound Blaster Live! card in RH8. However, when I watch a flash movie with any amount of length, (like the Strongbad E-mails at http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail.html) the video moves ahead of the audio, and it gets progressively worse as the clip continues. This got old real, real fast.

I'm not a newbie by any means, but I can't seem to kick this problem. Suggestions?
