Sharing information between Linux and Mac

I have a friend who uses a recent Mac, while I've got a Fedora Core 5 machine myself. I'd like to grant this friend permission to access a directory within my homedir and upload and download files therefrom (photos, music, whatever). I'm totally unfamiliar with Macs, but I'm assuming they have clients that will do anything typical Win or Linux network clients can do.

What's are some different ways I can approach this problem? My first thought is to use something like SCP or SFTP - but I've never before dealt with Linux/Unix permissions in this type of situation, so I thought I'd ask for help/suggestions.

I don't have any qualms about giving this person an account, if that would be necessary. I myself use WinSCP to do the same thing between my Windows laptop and my Linux machine, but of course I'm just signing in as myself, so it's easy.

Thanks for any ideas.

I THINK mac can use NFS. If it can I think that would be about the best way.

They also run a samba server to be able to share files with windows computers.
