sharing drives, lilo/grub

i have a 40gb that holds mandrake and a 30gb fat32 partition. i want to give linux access to my mp3s on the 30gb partition, but i was just wondering if i should make it read only or not. just to be safe.

the other issue i had was when i was configuring lilo in mandrake, i couldn't change any options because it gave me a lilo error of some sort; something about cylinders. of course, mandrake defaults to lilo, which is what i don't understand: if i can't modify the boot menu because lilo doesn't initialize properly, how am i able to use it in the first place? grub is just ugly.

thanks

no need to make it write only. fat32 support is fine. just mount it normally

give more info on the lilo problem. put in your existing lilo.conf file etc...
