Shared Documents with access for Windows XP and Linux

I was looking a while for a partition type to have acces with both operating systems windows xp and linux. NTFS didn't worked out, because it can mess up your partition and that is what i don't want with my documents. FAT32 isn't an option because it doesn't support files bigger dan 4 GB.

So I found a solution with an ext2 driver for windows xp. I used this driver:

ext2fsd

(then restarted my pc)
And then a used this tool to easely mount my partition:

ext2ifs

It workes fine for now on, but I liked to know is this the most secure (for data corruption) option to have both access on windows xp and linux. And if it's so I hope this can help other people here to do what I did.

Greetings Elwin S, (The Netherlands, Europe)

Because I'm new on this forum I'm not allowed to enter any URL's

The first one is a sourceforge project ext2fsd.sf.net

and the second one is the first site when u google for ext2ifs

this may be a dumb idea, but why not have a box that is networked and stores the data you speak of. that way either can talk via the network card and no problemo. sorry if i didn't help.

That's an option, but this is on my laptop so i'm not always able to connect to the 'box'. And I always make a backup of my data to my computer, so if this fail I have a backup.
