setting up the timer_irqaction

This is again in relation to the 2.6 kernel image that I built with Board support for the AMD Encore M3 board.

The kernel crashes early on in the booting process. When I traced the init/main.c file I found that it crashes when the board_timer_setup(&timer_irqaction) is called from the time_init function call in main.c

For this board, the board_timer_setup = au1xxx_timer_setup found in the arch/mips/au1x00/common/setup.c file.

Now, there is a note here saying that the timer_irqaction should be setup for the specific board before this function is called and I think this might lead to the cause of the kernel crash.

I am not sure what setting up the timer_irqaction means!?! timer_irqaction is a structure in the kernel/time.c file.

static struct irqaction timer_irqaction = {
.handler = timer_interrupt,
.flags = SA_INTERRUPT,
.name = "timer",

ANY ideas??
