Setting up the my.cnf for MySQL Server

I just installed the binaries for MySQL server but now I want to set it up to start under a specific user, and block any requests from outside computers. I would like to do this with the my.cnf file. Could some one tell me how to do this and where to put the file and what to put in it to do this.

I don't know if it can be done via my.cnf edits, but it could be done in via chroot. Check out http://security.linux.com/article.pl...tid=73&tid=35.
