Question Setting up Sylpheed -

I have been trying to setup Sylpheed my favorite email client for a long time but can't find a solution to my problem. I am trying to setup the folder lists to ONLY show UNREAD mail and TOTAL mail. But whatever I try the total mail ends up on the extreme right wasting a lot of screen space.

here's a pic of what I mean:

Any ideas ????

Thanks

Well, I use the following strategy:
Common Preferences -> Display -> General -> "Display unread number next to folder name" is checked.
And "Display message number columns in the folder view" is unchecked.

And the left side pane is 15%-20% screen width and the right side pane(80%) is subject listing only, no preview pane. "No Preview" makes it a bit safer because I can choose not to open a message if I find the subject line suspicious.

If there are unread mails, it shows the mail count in Red(2345). I get 10-20 emails a day from 4 accounts each and I find it fast enough and safe enough so far.

Thanks. I am trying out your system, but wish I didn't have to double-click on the message header to read it. Bitch Bitch Bitch.
I still don't understand why the columns are set up the way they are and are not adjustable enough. Every other piece I software I
run that's similar has totally adjustable column widths. Oh well, they say programmers are the worst interface designers .

Lightbulb Solved my own problem

Had a look at the .sylpheed directory..and found sylpheedrc file in
there. Why hadn't I thought of that before.
A bit of fiddling around and finally figured out which keywords controlled what.
From there it was simple...just adjust the size (while Sylpheed was not running) and bingo, Bobs your uncle.

Question Sylpheed Groups

Finally discovered how to deal with groups, very non-obvious so this may be helpful to some.

1- How to set up a group
<Sylpheed>
start from correct folder
MUST be a folder with source addresses !
<Tools> <Address Book> {choose a folder}
right click on folder <new group>

2- How to send to a group
<Sylpheed>
Start from correct account
<Compose> <Tools> <Address Book>
right click on the GROUP you want
menu opens with "To, cc, bcc"
left click on "To" and it fills in for you
Now proceed w/ email

Regards to all. What a helpful service!

Yeah.
@W1QF posted on a thread that ended 12 years ago.
His info says he is using debian 7 and raspbi2+ and he has made only 7 posts since 2007 so I wonder if that user ID may have been abandoned and is now compromised.
