Setting up samba to share files and printer

How do I configure my samba server to share a particular a folder so I can access via windows which I emulate using vmware. I would like to setup my printer as well which uses CUPS along with the offical HP Linux driver.
Swat wont let me in via browser or console using w3m. why?
The connection was refused when using th browser and console

sh-3.00$ w3m http://127.0.0.0:901
w3m: Can't load http://127.0.0.0:901.
sh-3.00$ su
#Password:
debian:/home/sc# w3m http://127.0.0.0:901
w3m: Can't load http://127.0.0.0:901.

The local loopback IP address is 127.0.0.1 or use locahost
http://127.0.0.1:901 or http://localhost:901

Make sure swat is running.

debian:/home/sc# /usr/sbin/swat

debian:/home/sc# /usr/sbin/swat start

I have tried both to switch on swat but nothing happens as if bash has crashed. I dont get the prompt back I have to press ctrl c to terminate it.

entry in inetd.conf
#<on># swat stream tcp nowait.400 root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/swat
It was off orginally then i thought i need to change it to on but still swat doesn't boot up

I'm not real familar with debian. Is inetd running?

swat is independent of samba.

I spoke too soon When I tested the file transfer it was as slow as hell. I have removed SP2 and it's still slow. why? the estuinmated time is going up to 80 and 90 on only just a 500mb file, Somtimes it goes down then up.
