Setting up Network Manager VPN Connection

Hello all,

I am successful in using pptpconfig to connect to an external VPN server on my Fedora 7 system, however when I attempt to setup a similar type of connection using the Gnome Network Manager, I am stumped on how to proceed.

Can someone offer guidance on what I need to do? For starters, which connection type do I choose: OpenVPN Client or the Compatible Cisco VPN Client?

With either choice, the fields I must complete appear to require different information from the information I supply pptpconfig.

On another system I have, which is running Ubuntu 7.04, the only connection type available is "Windows VPN (PPTP)", which works and would seem appropriate for what I need with my Fedora 7 system.

This is the second application shipped with Fedora 7 that I have found to shun anything "Windows". (The other application was Evolution). Is it the intent of the Fedora Org to make everything "difficult"? Where does one get these additional plugins or capabilities that Fedora seems to exclude from their distro?
