Setting up environment varriable


Hi,
I am using Centos 6.3 and trying to setup an environmen variable in .cshrc file. I use the following command

tcsh
setenv POSIX2_VERSION 199209
source ~/.cshrc
echo $POSIX2_VERSION
exit

but when i start the terminal and and echo $POSIX2_VERSION it does not exist.


please help!!!

Hi,
Just try this, Add the folloing in your ~/.cshrc

#!/usr/bin/env tcsh
setenv POSIX2_VERSION 199209;
echo $POSIX2_VERSION
