Setting file associations in Firefox 1.0 (MDK 10.1 Official)

Hello!

I am using Firefox 1.0 on Mandrake 10.1 official, and today I ran into an annoying problem. In my webmail I had an attached file (of type M$ Excel) that Firefox interpreted as a binary file. When I tried to open the file the only choice I had in the open/save dialog box was to save the file, the "Open with..." option was grey and not available to me. I know that OpenOffice can open this file and I would like to associate this type of file (and some others as well) with OOo , but I can not do that in the dialog box, and in the downloads setup I cannot add new file associations, only change or remove already existing ones. I am using Fluxbox with Konqueror as file manager (just changed from KDE ) and Konqueror opens the right application for this kind of files.

Is there a way around this problem or do I just have to save the file first and then open it from my HDD.

Regards,
Razze
