Set up Empathy to block spam

Hi there,

Does anyone know how to block spam in the messenger Empathy? In my case it got to a level where I consider it as very annoying.

Any hint is very much appreciated.

Unfortunetely... that is not a feature of Empathy (at least last I used it in late 2k9/early 2010.) It's the default client in several distributions now instead of pidgin because it has massively better support for webcams and some people consider that feature a necessity in a multi-im messaging client.

The fix for your problem is...

sudo su -
apt-get install pidgin
Sorry there isn't a better solution, I'm sure it's on their todo list.
