"session save" in GEdit

I wanted a text editor that auto-saves, so I'm trying GEdit. I noticed it has a "session save" plugin that appears to be something else--autosave is available whether I enable session save or not. So what exactly is "session save"? I looked it up on the gedit website. It says "Allow to bookmark working sessions in order to get them back for further use," but I don't understand yet what that means. (Probably because I'm trying to think in terms of my usual editor, Leafpad, which doesn't offer any features involving bookmarks.)

In otherwords lets say that there is something that you did in gedit previously. Maybe you made a file yesterday or the day before and several days later you would like to be able to work on that file and add things to it at a later day during the week.

Bookmarking that particular session that you had on that particular file can be recalled in the 'bookmarked sessions' provided you gave it a name.

You should be able to pull up anything in the bookmarking drop down menu that you did on Monday if and when you want to add to it on Thursday.:)

I don't seem to have a "session save" plugin on my gedit and the gedit-plugins is already installed. I would also love to have autosave feature.

What worked to make your thread solved?

My problem is not solved.
Should I have opened a new thread?

You probably should have opened a new one, and simply referenced this thread in it, because I have no objection if someone adds to my old post, but someone is now confused, either Ztcoracat or me. If he/she is asking "why is the post marked solved," he or she probably thinks you marked it solved. It was marked solved by me at some point, because Ztcoracat did explain what "session save" in Pluma means. I mean, normally, why would someone ask why this is marked solved? The original question was answered.

Yes you should have started a thread of your own.
