Serviio will not start in Fedora 25

First off this:[gelam@fedorabox bin]$ uname -a
Linux fedorabox 4.8.15-300.fc25.x86_64+debug #1 SMP Thu Dec 15 22:41:45 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Quad core machine, 12 gigs memory. I am trying to run Serviio on this PC to serve videos, music etc in house.
I followed all requirements listed on Serviio webpage. I updated machine, successfully installed Lame 3.99.5 and ffmpeg 3.0.2.
Then I ran this as root just to be sure of version:[root@fedorabox bin]# dnf install java
Last metadata expiration check: 2:49:58 ago on Tue Jan 10 15:37:50 2017.
Package java-1.8.0-openjdk-1:1.8.0.111-4.b16.fc25.x86_64 is already installed, skipping.
Dependencies resolved.
Nothing to do.
Complete!
1.8 is the version called for. I then unzipped the Serviio package and when I run the command below that is the error message I get. It is the same whether logged in as myself or as root. BTW I set this up on a Fedora 25 laptop I use to try stuff out on before I put it on my desktop machine. It works fine on the laptop but I don't want to use it on that. Any help would be appreciated.

[gelam@fedorabox ~]$ cd /home/gelam/Serviio-1.8/bin
[gelam@fedorabox bin]$ ./serviio.sh
Exception in thread "Thread-31" java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.serviio.MediaServer$ShutdownHook.run(MediaServer.java:374)
[gelam@fedorabox bin]$

and you HAVE installed the other NEEDED software packages ?
http://serviio.org/download
Quote:
Additional information

Linux users need to install the FFmpeg package (incl. libRTMP, libASS, libx264 and libmp3lame) for their OS distributions or, ideally, compile FFmpeg using the source files provided above
Linux users need to install the dcraw package if they need RAW image support
and seeing as this is NON free software that you have to buy $$$
have you asked them ?

Have you read the "serviio-1.8/README.txt" ?

have you read the docs ?
http://serviio.org/index.php?option=...w=article&id=5

and have you read the wiki
http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=build_ffmpeg_linux
ffmpeg in the non free multimedia fedora repo has this and built for multi thread

you might have to use Oracles java and not the OpenJDK
see the fedora guides for switching from the Opensource java to the closed source java
