server@localhost after login. Huh?

This is the first linux program I have ever used, and I can't figure out what to do, or where to look.

I have installed redhat linux 6.2 on an old computer that I am turning into a server. It's the only op sys on the New hard drive.

after installing, I am presented with a login, then get [server@localhost ******(name of machine)]$
I cannot find my cd rom drive, and it should be showing like windows. Have I missed something?
I installed the gnome style.
I'm lost at the start.
Plus, it opened my cd drive after the install and if I close it, it just reopens. ???

Would the mod please delete this message? I found the answer in the "Newbies" area. Thanks.
