serious ploblem in kde, bash, gentoo

My bash shell keeps locking up, (konsole) i can unlock it by hitting scroll lock but it does it again for some reason. I was emerging samba, smb4k, and xinetd, I had also installed a network card (rt8961). I was also watching a movie in xine Any one have a clue what this could be? Or maybe how to track what hit scroll lock? (the led on the keyboard doesn't light up.

I really do not want to reinstall gentoo because it is such a pain.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Now I realized why this was happening. The player uses fake keypresses to stop the screen saver!!!
as a result my shells always freeze. (In caffiene this is adjustable in xine i haven't checked.)

Hope this helps someone!
