Serial mouse


This is now driving my crazy,

Since i dont have a ps2 mouse and ps2 keyboard ports this is what i done,

PS2 to Serial mouse converter

and PS2 to AT Keyboard converter

The keyboard works fine, but the dam mouse doesnt this is slackware 10

I changed the device to ttyS0 but in X still the mouse pointer doesnt move.

this has be driving me crazy for the last 3hours and a bit,

how do i get it to work????

remeber its slackware 10 with xorg

You need to set up the mouse in the XF86Config file, which is usually under /etc/X11/

You might be able to do this just by changing the protocol option to auto. If not, I'd suggest taking a backup of the file and then running xf86config to set X up again.

I use XFree86 not Xorg; I think the file you want is called XorgConfig and the utility xorgconfig (but I might be wrong).

Slackware will probably also have a utility to set this up for you.

thanks i been tho them loads of times and no luck i guess i reinstall slackware load of times and select the mouse there :P thanks for your reply
