senmail sm-client: not starting


When I do sendmail -v root I dont get anything.
I tried doing "service sendmail restart" and that gave this error

Shutting down sendmail: [FAILED]
Shutting down sm-client [FAILED]
Startingsendmail [OK]
Starting sm-client: sendmail: fatal: flush queue mode requires no recipient
[FAILED]
Error in maillog is

May 1 07:30:45 lonasc01 postfix/postfix-script: fatal: the Postfix mail system is already running
May 1 07:30:45 lonasc01 postfix/sendmail[19511]: fatal: flush queue mode requires no recipient
~
Can somebody suggest what's the problem????
