Sendmail Transport Maps

How do I set up a transport map for sendmail? I'm running a RedHat 9 stock, which I think means I'm running sendmail (but you never know, because some OS's do some renaming / aliasing between sendmail and postfix). In the case of redhat, the links go as follows: /etc/sendmail -> /etc/alternatives/sendmail -> /etc/sendmail.sendmail.

I tried creating mappings in /etc/postfix/transport, and this didn't seem to work. So I guess I'm using the real sendmail. BTW- I thought postfix was supposed to replace sendmail.. why is redhat still configured to run sendmail by default?

Anyway, my ultimate question is- how do I set up a transport map for sendmail??
