sendmail returns 'setsender: : invalid or unparsable ' suddenly - why would it?


sendmail (sm-mta, to be exact) started returning

for all messages sent from my local domain to my local domain (I use them for alerts, sent by cron). I don't think I've changed anything recently.

It was bad permissions for /var/spool/mqueue . Don't know how they got changed.
