Sendmail not listening

I have been trying to setup sendmail. I have been following this how-to. Everything has been going fine until we got to sendmail not listening on port 25. Here's what I got so far...
1. dnl DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA')
2. Stop sendmail. m4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.cf. start sendmail.
Up to here, everything works fine with no errors.
3. # ps auxw | grep [s]endmail
root 13883 0.0 0.9 5832 2344 ? S 22:49 0:00 sendmail: Queue runner@01:00:00 for /var/spool/mqueue
smmsp 13892 0.0 0.8 5736 2252 ? S 22:49 0:00 sendmail: Queue runner@01:00:00 for /var/spool/clientmqueue
4. netstat -an | grep :25 | grep tcp

And, I don't get anything in return. Something I missed?

dnl DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA')

[root@localhost mail]# netstat -an | grep :25
[root@localhost mail]# netstat -an | grep :25 | grep tcp
[root@localhost mail]#

Still no result...

I mean knock off the dnl. The line should read
DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA')
without the word dnl.

Nope. I thought that's what you meant before, cause of the how-to and book I have. Here's what I did and as you can see, still not working...

1. DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA')
2. m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmail.cf
3. /etc/init.d/sendmail restart (shut down and restarted OK)
4. netstat -an | grep :25 | grep tcp

Still nothing.

Thanks for the help. But I have opted on reinstalling. I need to install windoze for some school programs. I have been meaning to reinstall redhat and dual boot with windoze. Guess now is a better time than ever.

You need to change the 127.0.0.1 to the IP of the machine otherwise it will only listen on 127.0.0.1
