sendmail dead but subsys locked in centos
 

sendmail dead but subsys locked centos when i check my sendmail service
# service sendmail status

Please help me out.

Hi

#service sendmail start ->>check whether it throws any error while starting sendmail

#check out /var/log/maillog -- symptoms of logs when you try to start sendmail

#deleted the sendmail file in /var/lock/subsys/sendmail and Restart sendmail ..

My log is saying like this

delay=2.1, delays=0.01/0/1.7/0.4, dsn=5.0.0, status=bounced (host abc.com[x.x.x.x] said: 550-Verification failed for <apache@localhost.localdomain> 550-No Such User Here" 550 Sender verify failed (in reply to RCPT TO command))

to=<root@localhost.localdomain>, orig_to=<apache@localhost.localdomain>, relay=local, delay=0.01, delays=0/0/0/0.01, dsn=5.2.2, status=bounced (cannot update mailbox /var/mail/root for user root. error writing message: File too large)

please help me out.
