sendmail antivirus overhead
I have been looking for a sendmail antivirus program, and haven't had much luck. It doesn't seem like there are a lot of sendmail antivirus programs. So by a little deduction, I would tend to think that most people don't virus scan on the server.
Why is this? The only reason I can think of is that it would slow the server down too much. How much would it actually slow down the server? Jeff |

Consider the situation -if a virus is created and attacks your system -unlike in windooze it can't do anything harmful it have no suid or sgid-there are some viruses which embed itself to executables - even then you are from no danger So using a anti-virus in Linux is totally foolish You don't need a antivirus in Linux Of course there are proprietory viruses which are expensive check the pages and the replies therein http://www.linuxsa.org.au/mailing-li...3-01/1057.html http://www.linuxsa.org.au/mailing-li...01/thread.html there is a link of available linux anti-virus softwares http://www.just-software-links.com/l..._software.html |
