Marco,
maybe you can help me now better. I am using Red Hat Enterprise WS 3.0 (the last one). I am using Linux for PERL and test automation of a system under development. so I need to use sendmail in my perl scripts to send email as a conclusion of tests that I run. I know Linux only as an account holder/user not admin. I use Linux to write and run my perl scripts. I already have sendmail.cf and *.mc under /etc/mail and I have my mail server name and IP address. what should I do next to config sendmail and be abe to use linux command line to send a test email to my yahoo account to test it? also, what is the syntax for sendmail on command line? thanks again. Pete,
I am not trying to config a Mail Server. I have a Linux workstation trying to use "sendmail" on the command line. I have the IP address and the name of the mailserver. if you have done this before give me steps to do in a way that a novice can understand. regards, Zapa. Quote:

Ahh, this one's out of my league. I've never set something like that up before. However, I imagine there are a few posts around here that deal with just such an occurance.

Zapa,
the tutorial that Pete segnaled to you it's great and powerfull and I also use thus tutorial. I'm a newbie of Linux and SendMail, but with a few patience and constancy I succesfull configured all and all work properly. I think you dont' need a Webmin for manage your mail. If you have sendmail and a static IP address it's Ok. the thing more important is configure BIND for work properly and resolve your subdomain correctly. Look for : http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/l...dns-static.htm |
