sendmail and security

Hello!
I have read that sendmail is insecure in many ways. I want to know more about it, the security holes. do u think we should switch to qmail? or can we manage with sendmail-8.12.8-4? Can u suggest some documentation on sendmail?

Postfix is a nice drop in replacement for sendmail and is much more secure. First off, it doesn't totally run as root as sendmail does and is broken up into smaller programs rather than one huge binary like sendmail.

I've never really liked sendmail or even qmail.

Although, I am currently working on a modular smtp/pop3 server suite. I have not thus far released an alpha, but, it may be of interest to you.
