Sendmail and OpenLDAP

Hi all

I have Samba PDC with Openldap Backend. which is used as domain Controller on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 ES.
I have another Linux System(Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 ES). where I
would like to configure Sendmail.
I would like to know whether i can Use Sendmail to recognize users and groups which are there in LDAP Backend.
I would like sendmail use the username and passwords stored in LDAP Backend. ie POP3 Authentication using LDAP Backend .

Please Guide Me.

well considering your using RHEL you could always change your mind and go the postfix route. edit your /etc/pam.d/dovecot file to using ldap auth like this

then get postfix to use ldap aliases like this

http://www.yourhowto.org/content/view/18/9/ - OpenLDAP and postfix.
