i use redhat 8 with sendmail 8.12.7 as a mailserver. i added a domain to the virtualusertable.

i added it to the /etc/mail/access , /etc/mail/local-host-names and the /etc/mail/virtusertable . i ran MAKE after each and stopped/restarted sendmail with: service sendmail restart.

i also deleted a domain from the same files and restarted sendmail. e.g. @goaway.com

my prob is that i can still receive email i send to myself, using the deleted domain (e.g. me@goaway.com) and i cant receive email using the new domain, i send the emails by using Pine on the server, using an account i created for myself.

the deleted domain was deleted from the dns server as well.

what am i doing wrong ?

Assuming you have the following:

domain1.blah
domain2.blah
domain3.blah

You will need to add these three domains to /etc/mai/sendmail.cw (or whatever you have defined for

define(`confCW_FILE',`/etc/mail/sendmail.cw')dnl

OR you can add these three domains to /etc/sendmail.cf file by the "cw" variable.

Cwlocalhost domain1.blah domain2.blah domain3.blah

Basically these tell sendmail that "Hey, I should accept these domains as "local" and deliver mail accordingly."
