Sending Mail from 1 server to another

What is the best way to send mail from 1 server (fileserver) to Another (Mail server)? And the mail would be anything generated by the OS, example logwatch, tripwire, etc. Do I need postfix setup??

Thanks,
Homer

You need to have some sort of mail server on either of these machines. Use postfix/sendmail/exim/ etc... If you don't install an MTA you will never be able to send/receive mail. The postfix configuration files are very well documented so I suggest you take a look at it.
