Send SMS via PHP?
 

Hello everyone.I have a weird question to ask:Can I send a SMS to my mobile phone via PHP?

By the way,let me talk about my situation.I am building my website and want to add some "weird" features to it.I want to send a SMS via PHP to my mobile phone for some reason.Is there a software out there or method I can use in this situation?

dunno about php but i heard a software that send sms to you while ups connected to machine is activated so it is possible. but you should google or freshmeat or sourceforge :)

The easiest way to send SMS via PHP is to use an SMS gateway based on the Internet, these usually accept HTTP requests with the appropriate parameters and then forward the message on through the GSM network.

This does mean you need to have an account with the provider, and usually purchase credits up front.

We have used these guys in the past, based in SA but can route messsages pretty much anywhere including the UK

i am in need of some help

i am looking at two send sms company gateways
i see that the code for php is in the support pages of their websites, but i dont know what i have to do with the php code, i placed it in dreamweaver and nothing shows up, i expected some buttons like send message, and a box to enter the message, do you guys have a page format you could post so i can look at and see what to do, thanks
