Send email out to customers, thunderbird or.. ?

Hi!
We got around 600 clients and we're planning to send out our first newsletter, but I got couple of questions..

1. All the e-mail addresses are in MySQL database. Is there any way how to import these e-mails into thunderbird?

2. Can I tell thunderbird to send one email at a time, so our clients wouldn't see other client e-mails in TO: field?

3. Is there any better smtp client software that would fit my needs better?

Another way would be to use PHP to send out mail, but since the newsletter is all HTML, I'm not sure how would I do it with PHP, I rather use software for now.

Why not setup mailman, Lyris or some other mail list manager software ?
Sympa for instance can query a SQL database for the list..

You can always use BCC in Thunderbird to send the email to everyone and not disclose the recipient list. of course ONE mistake is all you get if you send TO: instead of BCC: and your full email list goes to everyone in the clear.. This usually upsets your client base severely..

you can always dump the table from SQL to a ascii delimited file and import it into Thunderbird.
Thunderbird can also pull address books from am LDAP server..
