SELinux - disabling in CentOS 5.1 prevents LVM from loading and/or booting

Hello,

I don't know if my issue directly pertains to the software involved, or if this is considered double-posting. If either one is an issue I apologize in advance!

I am having an issue installing CentOS 5.1 x86_64 on a K8N-LR based system.

Disabling SELinux (or even setting it to permissive) causes LVM to lose everything, and I cannot reboot the system after that without manually skipping past loading LVM2.

Another kind poster has mentioned something about enabling my Perc3 based LVM in the kernel, but I don't know how to address that I'm afraid. I experienced the same issue when trying a SATA drive directly attached to the motherboard ports.

My original post on this is in the Redhat forum here - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...atedly-619382/

Thanks in advance for any advice or pointers you may have...

Regards,

Eddie

Long shot, but have you thought of removing and reinstalling lvm2 and libselinux?
