Selecting audio devices in gnomemeeting
Hello,
Slackware 9.1 with 2.6.3 kernel. Have set-up ALSA and have successfully tested audio env. I am trying to set up gnomemeeting and I unable to get audio to play nice. It wants to use /dev/dsp0 and /dev/mixer and I believe this is incorrect (get errors when testing that set-up ...). How can I get it to use the correct devices? Thanks for your help |
Having fixed this, I am replying to myself just in case it proves useful to someone else.
I am running on kde with the aRts server, which locks the /dev/dsp device. In order for gnomemeeting to have access to the device, it needs to be accessed by a aRts wrapper. When I run 'artsdsp -v -m gnomemeeting' , everything is playing nice. |
