Segmentation Fault with 'top'

Some of the users on my machine can't run certain programs. 'top' and 'w', for instance, return a Segmentation Fault and go back to the command prompt when run by a handful of the users on my (Mandrake) box. This is not the case for all the users, as my personal account works fine on these commands (as does root, thankfully).

Anyone know why this might be the case? May it have something to do with those users not belonging to a particular group? Not having view access to certain directories? Any help?

Thanks

You could change the permissions on /usr/bin/top and see if that helps.

Permissions on top are:

-r-xr-xr-x

that should be fine, right? In any case, like I said, there is at least one user for whom those programs work.
