Seeking Partitioning software, open source?
 

I was hoping that someone could direct me to an open source Partitioning software similar to G4U (which is awsome by the way) that I can use to partition my drive, albeit usage would be in a Linux environment or even a Windows environment.

You can download Knoppix or System Rescue CD and use either cfdisk (ncurses based) or QTparted.

I use QTparted because it's gui and looks a lot like Partition Magic. If you want to learn a little bit more about what's going on use cfdisk (although it's not that difficult, just not point and click).

QTParted is Lunix based correct so it's not bootable for other operating systems? is that correct?

It is linux based, but what you do is put the live CD into the cdrom and reboot. Then you'll get a nice linux system that has qtparted. You're just booting from CD, so it doesn't matter what OS is on the machine, as long as it's an x86 machine.

After all, you really shouldn't repartition any drives that you're working on anyway...
