Seek Button in Videos doesn't work - Ubuntu 10.04

OS: Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04

The seek button in all videos played (including Youtube videos as well as video playback from files stored on disk) doesn't work.

Tried removing/installing Totem, with gstreamer/xine and the problem still persists.

Also, videos streamed become Blank, that is, they cease to display halfway through playback.

The seek feature on all playable videos doesn't work.

Any Solutions to the problem?

If these are Flash videos, as the YouTube reference suggests, you might try a different browser. In the past, for instance, when I've had a problem playing a video in FF, Opera has often been able play it.

button, lucid, lynx, seek, ubuntu
