sed problems

Currently I am running a system using the unstable version of debian, and when using aptitude to upgrade this morning I came up with this error message:

No `START-INFO-DIR-ENTRY' and no `This file documents'.
install-info(/usr/share/info/sed.info): unable to determine description for `dir' entry - giving up
dpkg: error processing sed (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
sed

Unfortunately I am now unable to use aptitude to do anything since it will not get past this stage to install any new packages.

How should I go about resolving this issue?

Any help would be extremely kind,

icisyd.

The file /usr/share/info/sed.info.gz is an gzipped empty file.

Sorry for posting the extraneous reply. The Google cache of this forum didn't have the solution.
