secure syslog?
I am thinking of using syslog to log a few servers and such to a remote server, and I was wondering if anyone knew what I could do to restrict syslog from accepting log requests from any host and limit to a possible few. can this be done?
I know this can be done with IPCHAINS or IPTABLES but I would rather use something in the form of tcp_wrappers or an access list if possible.
Nothing has been ruled out.. If there is no other way IPCHAINS/TABLES would be my last resort.
I know that syslog is primarily UDP I mentioned tcp_wrappers as an example.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
