Second Order Usage of KGPG

I have generated my public and private keys and I read through both the KGPG and GPG FAQs and manuals.

I was wondering, for using the encryption in Kopete, does the other user have to have my public key? (If I'm using the encryption scheme from KGPG)

Also, how exactly does the KDE encryption work? When it was done, I think I had two files, the original and another one, but the newly created one (according to the system) was 0 bytes. Is this just the info file for the other one which I have encrypted?

Thank you!

Other user needs to have your public key only if he/she intends to send encrypted messages to you.
Encrypted messages that you send to him/her are encrypted with his/her public key, and messages will be decrypted with his/her private key.

Just to report, my second problem - the 0 KB thing, was just a fluke. It does have MB-age. But it looks as though the process also compresses the file because it's smaller.

If I encrypt with KGPG what can someone using Windows decript it with?

Thanks!

I guess they could use OpenPGP (or GnuPG for Windows).
There should be some good front-end (like KGPG) for Windows.
