Question searching in command line like in windows search or macOS finder

Hi,

I am very familiar with "find" and "locate" and many of the options they provide.
Does anyone know a tool in order to search inside of documents and files like you would do it with the finder on Mac or with Windows search?
I guess these tools use an indexer which is always running and indexing the content of every file so you can search and find a file based on what is in it, rather than by name only like locate would do.

Thanks

If you are using KDE then strigi will do this. You can do a search of using strigiclient. I find strigiclient to be a fairly basic frontend.
There is also recoll, which I have not used for a while, but it has a better frontend. http://www.lesbonscomptes.com/recoll/
Both of these are QT based GUI tools. I am not aware of any command line equivalents.
